'AC/DC Exposed!' To Open Tomorrow

June 25, 2008

Blender Gallery in Paddington, Sydney, Australia will host AC/DC Exposed!, a collection of photographs by Philip Morris, beginning this Thursday, June 26. Timed to coincide with what would've been Bon Scott's 62nd birthday on July 9, AC/DC Exposed! showcases the work of an Australian rock photo archive from a career now spanning some 40-odd years, focusing on his work with AC/DC.

According to Sosueme, Morris has worked as a photographer with music magazines Go-Set, RAM and Juke, and shot the likes of LED ZEPPELIN, MUDDY WATERS and THE ROLLING STONES, as well as doing record covers for MIDNIGHT OIL, JOHNNY O'KEEFE, SHERBET and THE ANGELS.

This show features some 60 photographs shot with AC/DC's original lineup, including the publicity shots for "High Voltage" and "Jailbreak", previously unseen shots from the studio sessions of "Dirty Deeds", still shots from the filming of "High Voltage" and images from their last live show with Scott at the Cremorne Hotel in 1979. Also in the show are some images from his work with other acts of the era.

A sample photo and a short interview with Philip Morris are available on The Sydney Morning Herald web site.
